Rosh Hashanah, which means “head of the year,” is the Jewish New Year that commemorates the creation of the world. It is a time to begin introspection, to think how you can improve in the coming year, and to ask friends and family to forgive for any way in which you have wronged them.
In the home, eating apples and/or bread (challah) dipped in honey is a symbol of our wish for a sweet year.
